Mixed Feelings?

Well, last night was basically good... went to see Ocean's Thirteen (which was a right brilliant little film), followed by playing some Gears of War with Dave over Xbox Live. Good times! Finished the first act and got about half way to the Junker before Dave was forcibly disconnected!

Sadly, however, Andy was in a bad mood when we went to sleep... thankfully she seemed to be in a much better mood this morning. She's gone for dinner (something for the Prof she works with)... which gives me a few precious hours of gaming without worrying about how she feels. Not that I don't love her to pieces... I do... but sometimes it's nice to not have to worry, ya know? Only downside is that I don't know what to play! Probably Catan.

Anyway, so that's all well and good. And it looks like I am going to the big fancy practice next Monday... that'll be awesome! I just wish my Japanese were better so I could understand the sensei from the Tokyo Police better... but one step at a time. 8 hours of straight Kendo... I hope the Etobicoke Dojo is air conditioned!

Sunny Weekend!

Well, that was a great weekend! Friday's Kendo was excellent, followed by a small excursion to Rickshaw (only 7 of us... myself, Andy, Ron, Ron's wife, Miyagawa-sensei, Joe Horiba, and Lisa Yu)... Saturday we went strawberry picking and had a great time (got a good collection, too!), then went shopping (spent too much money, but oh well!)... Sunday we went to the beach (have I mentioned that my girlfriend is stunning in a bikini? 'Cause she is!) and then watched Doctor Who and Ouran Host Club when we got home!

Not exciting, but very fulfilling. Good times!

Have to have to have to get on the job application thing, though. 5 by the end of tomorrow!

Yeah, it's Silly

Andy is upset with me because I think worrying about a little spilt water in the kitchen is silly.

I said that I wouldn't do it any more, but apparently that's not enough... the fact that I find it amusing she gets so worked up about it is disrespectful or some such nonsense.

I love her, and Andy is one of the most mature women I've ever met, but ye GODS can she be immature at times! Her pleas of "You can't respect somebody if you judge them" is completely ridiculous... but whatever. I can only hope she grows up a bit... and I really hope this isn't still an issue when I get home tonight (granted, when we "argue" she mostly gives me the cold shoulder, which is fine by me... I just play more video games and we talk whenever she's ready to talk).

Oh well. We had a good week in there of her being happy... that's a start!

Same Old...

Not much to report today. Went to see the Pirates of the Caribbean 3 last night... great movie! Not as good as the first, but still an excellent, fun little film (as long as you can keep your disbelief suspended). I love the movies as a whole... really should get around to buying them once they come out as a bundle!

Andy seems to be much more chipper these days... which is really nice. Interested in sex again, which is even nicer... I haven't been getting enough sleep, but it's a price I willingly sacrifice! Worth every minute, I assure you!

Other than that, not a whole lot goin' on. Dave keeps failing to show up on Xbox Live... I'm sure he has a good reason, though. This is the busiest time of year for him (and then he's on vacation for 2 months!).

Speaking of which, I should research things we can do this weekend... we're going strawberry picking on Saturday, which is nice... but Andy wants to actually do stuff these days. Fine by me, as long as it isn't too expensive... last weekend I spent over $400 on two dinners, a gown-and-hood rental for one of her friends, and Xbox Live... expensive! But that's okay... she put the $600 into savings for when we move (yay!), and I get paid in a week (yay yay!).

Andy Is Commencemented!

Andy graduated on Friday... was interesting (and by "interesting" I mean the ceremony was long and rather dull).

Got a few nice pictures of her. So did her family. Met her father for the first time... pretty stoic type, but still seems nice enough. Met her uncle, aunt, and one of her cousins in Toronto... good people (know how to make a mean dinner!).

Spent the rest of the weekend in Port Credit with Dave and Chantal, plus one short dinner with Elizabeth... good times, all around. I had more fun than Andy did... she was in a snotty mood after graduating and harped on me but good... very snappy, very cruel at times. All forgiven last night (no, not because we had sex... I'm not so shallow). She seemed happier and more centered today when I left (she was still sleeping... lucky wench!).

Anyway, must run... I have 3 hours to confirm that our system does or doesn't meet Class A Spectral Uniformity or all hell break's loose. Also must remember to call that job I applied for, just to see if they received and considered my application.

And then apply for more jobs after Kendo tonight!

Tomorrow... Big Day

Tomorrow I meet Andy's father. Oh, and she's graduating... but I'm not worried about that part. It'll be boring and forgettable and long... but meanwhile I'll be meeting her father for the first time. I hope I make an acceptable first impression!

And then off to Toronto to meet the rest of her father's family (no stress there, at all). But at least we'll get to spend Saturday and part of Sunday together with Dave and Chantal... playin' games, chillin' out... relaxin'... that sorta stuff. And then back to work on Monday... bleh.

My only complaint (more of a downer than a real complaint) is that I don't want to miss Kendo on Friday, but sometimes it seems unavoidable. This is the 5th practice I've ever missed... and while that may sound like a lot, I'm pretty sure I've missed fewer practices than Mori-Sensei. And I'm positive I've missed fewer practices than anyone else... but that's not really important. I just want to get better. Faster. Stronger. More confident in my abilities.

Andy's Feeling Better!

Well, my beautiful girlfriend is back to her more-normal self again... less depressed and stressed, at least. Last night we went grocery shopping together, and then we made dinner together (Caesar Salad from scratch... very tasty, even if Andy says it's a bit salty), and then we played some Rogue Galaxy together. She even watched me play a bit of Gears of War contentedly... pretty sweet!

Speaking of Gears, I just finished Stage 4 this morning... I'm sad to think there may be only 5 stages, but I'm hopeful that I miscounted or misread or something... 'cause it's a bloody brilliant game. I do hope I get a chance to try it out with Dave before long... and that the online is as much fun as the offline. That'd be cool.

I still need to finish Kameo... I'm close, but not there yet. And Tomb Raider is fun... and after all those are done, there's still Rogue Galaxy and Kingdom Hearts II. Yay! I don't care if it's the summer game-drought already... I'm stocked up for quite some time!

ANYway, only another day of work this week (huzzah!)... and then I meet Andy's dad on Friday. A pity the ceremony will be so dull... they always are... but with any luck lunch will be good and compensate for it.

And then Saturday and Sunday with Dave and Chantal... yay!

Shorter days at work...

Well, I've been showing up for work increasingly later and later, and nobody seems to have minded yet... granted, I'm going to run out of banked hours eventually, but until then... I'm good to go! I certainly don't mind not showing up for a few hours!

I've got to work on applying to more jobs, though... I want to average about one a day. Plus working out more often... I have to miss Kendo practice on Friday, sadly, but hopefully I'll make up for it next week (only 4 more weeks until the next tournament!). Oh, and I have to remember to e-mail Dave and Chantal about the possibility of staying on Saturday night... save Andy from having to drive back on Sunday. I should also ask if she wants to rent a car for the weekend so I can help with the driving... and I should look into finding a driving school to teach me standard.

Hmmm. So much to do, so little time. It might be wiser to just find a car (a cheap, cheap car) that I can learn on myself... I could certainly use it now and then. We'll have to see.

First Kendo Victory!

Well, that was a good (not great, but good) weekend. Saturday was mostly great... woke up early to get to the tournament on time, won my first Individual's match...

Wait, wait... let's try that again:
*Won my FIRST INDIVIDUAL'S MATCH!!*

Much better. I even started out from behind... he got a point on me first (a "do" hit... sloppy, but whatever), and then I got 2 "men" points on him in a row! GO ME!

Lost my second match against the guy that ended up winning the court (a guy from BC... as Mori-sensei said, if he was going to fly in from BC, his sensei musta been pretty sure he'd do well!), and then lost my Team Match to an ugly, ugly kote point (I still can't believe they gave it to him... but whatever).

After that I went to Union to see Andy off to Montreal (she's coming back tonight)... fell in love with Toronto again (man I love walking through that city!), and then hopped on a subway to meet my mother. Spent the night in Georgetown.

The Sunday spent with my parents was unremarkable except my father said he might try to get me a $100,000/yr raise in order to keep me at the company. I'll believe it when I see it (and it still might not be enough to get me to stay).

Updates

Well, Andy has been feeling a bit better... which is good. Sadly, still no sex... and I finally got around to mentioning to her that if the whole "lack of sex" thing keeps up then we'll have to stop dating. I love her and all, but I need at least a minimum amount of sex to be happy... I don't think my demands are unreasonable, but I do understand that she may not be willing to have sex as often as I want. Which is fine, really... but does mean we won't be together. I hope it doesn't come to that... and it's not pressing yet, for sure, but it was time to let her know that it IS an issue. She wasn't too happy with the comparison to Ross and Donovan, for sure... but I think it's a justified one (although Andy does have a point about Donovan making a choice about how frequently to have sex).

Anyway, Kendo tonight, followed by Rickshaw (hopefully... I like going out for dinner with the Kendoka, but I don't think Andy is going to go for it... but if it happens, I'll probably go regardless). Oh, and we didn't go to Pirates last night but not because of Andy (dinner didn't show up until 7:50, and the movie started at 8). I'm hoping to catch a matinee tomorrow... that'd be cool.
