Well, that was pretty freakin' sweet.
First off, I didn't win any of my matches... nor did I get a point during the tournament. Which is the suck. BUT, my first match I could have TOTALLY won if I didn't end up going out of bounds twice... and I
almost got a "do" point on one of 'em... it was hellasweet. I got one flag for it. Which is CLOSE!
Anyway, the team match was also pretty fun... I held off a much, much better player for over half the match, but then got my kote hit while I was going for his head. After that I had to hit him and as a result couldn't play as defensively... so he got a good solid
men hit in, and that was that.
Andy was an absolute peach the whole trip... says she had a great time, loved watching me... I
think that she might be interested in picking up Kendo in the future. I'd love it if she did... but I don't want to push her. If she decides to do it, it'll be her choice (and I'll support that, for sure), not because I want her to.
The Westin we stayed in, albeit awesome, was a bit pricey... and my god do the Americans ever have large portions (the dinner we had on Saturday night was ENORMOUS... except for the sampler platter, which was actually a little smaller than I would have suspected!). I'm so glad she enjoyed coming. She's awesome... I love her. Yay!
Other than that... not much to say. Hope my parents are having fun in Europe for the week (I'm certainly going to enjoy not having them around!). And I leave for Montreal on Friday! Yay again!
