Just Another Day

Only today and tomorrow, and then I'm off to Montreal for almost a week... just today and tomorrow...
[sigh]

Ah well. It's not too bad... I can survive a couple more days of this. Gotta get some 9055s up and running, but that's no biggie (hopefully... knock on wood). I just hope that there isn't anything broken in 'em... that tends to be the biggest cause of delays. And one of them just met resolution spec, so I just have to do the whole "phase error" thing and it's done. Huzzah.

Other than that, can't kiss Andy right now... stupid cold sore. Oh well. I've had it since I was a kid, it comes and goes... so I suppose I'm lucky. But still, she's sad she can't kiss me too... doesn't make me feel much better, but whatev'. I'll heal quick... I always do!

Post Kendo Tournament

Well, that was pretty freakin' sweet.

First off, I didn't win any of my matches... nor did I get a point during the tournament. Which is the suck. BUT, my first match I could have TOTALLY won if I didn't end up going out of bounds twice... and I almost got a "do" point on one of 'em... it was hellasweet. I got one flag for it. Which is CLOSE!

Anyway, the team match was also pretty fun... I held off a much, much better player for over half the match, but then got my kote hit while I was going for his head. After that I had to hit him and as a result couldn't play as defensively... so he got a good solid men hit in, and that was that.

Andy was an absolute peach the whole trip... says she had a great time, loved watching me... I think that she might be interested in picking up Kendo in the future. I'd love it if she did... but I don't want to push her. If she decides to do it, it'll be her choice (and I'll support that, for sure), not because I want her to.

The Westin we stayed in, albeit awesome, was a bit pricey... and my god do the Americans ever have large portions (the dinner we had on Saturday night was ENORMOUS... except for the sampler platter, which was actually a little smaller than I would have suspected!). I'm so glad she enjoyed coming. She's awesome... I love her. Yay!

Other than that... not much to say. Hope my parents are having fun in Europe for the week (I'm certainly going to enjoy not having them around!). And I leave for Montreal on Friday! Yay again!

Less Sick!

Well, I'm not "better" yet, but I'm at least less sick. And that's something.

The thing went okay yesterday, and Evironment Canada signed for it. Which is good. It's still flawed, but hey, they said they'd take it, and that's the important thing, really. And they'll PAY for it, which is even better.

As for me, I'm looking forward to Detroit tomorrow... should be good! I hope, at least!

Still Sick.

And today the Evironment Canada people are showing up. Joy.

[Sigh]

Oh well. At least it'll be over soon... one way or the other. And the second they're done here, I'm outta here... 12 hours last night was more than enough, thanks.

Still Sick

Today... I'm feeling a bit better. Of course, being at work will probably make me feel worse... but tomorrow we have those Evironment Canada people coming, so one way or the other, I have to be here today. The system is almost fully operational, apparently... our software guy is having some problems getting the filter wheels to work properly. Oh well. Hopefully everything works acceptably well tomorrow, and we can wash our hands of the whole mess!

Because, honestly... SO sick of this project. More so than normal, even... really sick of this project!

Sick.

I am sick. For real this time... but I have to be here because the stupid Environment Canada people are showing up on Thursday. I hate this job.

Weekend was good though (aside from the pepperoni which made me sick last night). Stupid, stupid... oh well. Serves me right.

Weekend! Woo!

Well, this weekend should prove interesting... and fun! Tomorrow we leave for Port Credit... hopefully I remember to bring Bill's number to let him know to pick us up! And then a day full of gaming... bliss! Followed by Sunday spent partially in Toronto buying things... hopefully nothing too expensive (since I am, you know... broke). And then home Sunday night. Not much time to actually relax, but that's okay.

Andy's feeling better, but still not quite 100%... hopefully she'll be back in fighting form tomorrow. I hope she doesn't go through a random mood swing while we're in Port Credit... but if she does, I'm sure we can work it out. She's still growing... getting better, for sure, but growing regardless.

Lastly, Shauna is weird... I don't get that woman sometimes. I really don't. But, then again, I think it's partly that she doesn't want to be understood... weird, but hey. Whatever.

Long, LONG Days

Well, Andy isn't feeling well again today. She had a bit of a fever when I left for work... I hope she heals fast. I'm not too surprised... she's been under a lot of stress. Personally, I think she's far too hard on herself... but whadda I know.

In other news, the amount of stuff I have to do at work has been increasing exponentially... which is sad. But the company appears to be doing much better, which is good (for them, at least). Only another few months, and then I'm outta here and on my own (for better or for worse).

Lastly, I'm SO broke. So unbelievably broke. I hope I get an acceptable tax return... that would really, really be nice. We'll see, I guess.

Good Peoples...

Well, it turns out that Paul and Christine (Andy's friends in Kitchner) are good peoples... I had a pretty good time this weekend! The FASS-thing we went to see was kinda cool... funny at times, boring at others, but overall they did a pretty good job.

Then on Saturday we went game-shopping (bought myself a copy of Ticket to Ride... the German version... which is definitely good... but I think I may prefer the original version), then made pizza from scratch (three cheers for my good memory for memorizing the pizza dough recipe!), followed by watching the Princess Bride and then a quick game of Ticket to Ride. Overall, good times had by all! Then crepes Sunday morning and a quick drive back to London, followed by Kendo practice (which was excellent, as always... fewer bruises on Sunday than on Friday... I have a whopper of a bruise on my left ribs from Friday), and then just relaxing at home (watched "Noises Off", more Mystery Science Theatre 300, and another episode of Clone High). Oh, and we actually made a menu for the week so we'll only have to go grocery shopping once... at least that's the plan. I'm hoping to spend only about $80 on groceries this week... we'll see how that works out.

Lastly... dinner with the 'rents tonight. Joy.

Sick Day Yesterday!

Of course, I wasn't actually sick... that rarely ever happens (although I was sick for about a week last year... only took 2 days off for it, though). Spent time with Andy, went for all-you-can-eat sushi... chilled. It was good. I feel much better today... and this weekend when we go to Kitchner to meet her friends should be pretty cool. And Kendo tonight! Woo!

I love Kendo. I'm going to the Detroit tournament in a few weeks, too... I'm going to get my ASS handed to me, but it should be interesting anyway!

Oh, and Monday... dinner with the 'rents. Joy.
Ah well. My mother mentioned something about maybe lending me a thousand bucks... which would really help me out a lot. So I can't throw too many stones.
